Here is a custom form chair that was hand painted with gold leaf and specially formulated paint. It almost looks too beautiful to sit on.

Custom Furniture Designed By Charles Hollis Jones and Aaron R. Thomas
Above is the "blade desk" which as originally designed by Charles Hollis Jones and given to Aaron R. Thomas to build. After some collaboration, Aaron and Charles Hollis revised the design so that it could actually be built in a way fitting of the piece.

The New Z Chair
We just redesigned our acrylic Z chair as a result of a debacle we had with a short little old lady and some double cushioned carpet floors. Once upon a time we sold a set of four chairs to the nicest couple ever. This couple had our chairs delivered to their dining room and loved the way that they looked until the lady realized that the seat height was too tall for her and her feet couldn't touch the ground. As part of our commitment to complete customer satisfaction we agreed to make some custom chairs for her and picked up the old ones as we delivered the new lowered chairs. Then we had another snafu...The clients called to tell us that the new chairs were not very stable. Aaron went over to there home to see what they were talking about and found out that they had had their carpet installed with extra padding underneath so that when you walked on the floors it felt as if you were walking on a cloud. The problem was in the fact that our chairs weren't designed to be put on clouds. We called in our engineer to completely redesign the chairs with a more stable center of gravity. The result is an even better, more comfortable, safer, and more stable Z-chair. We were so happy with the results that we decided to discontinue our previous chairs in favor of the new Aaron R. Thomas Acrylic Z Chair. These are available at our online store for only $550 and we will ship anywhere in the United States or Canada for FREE! Oh, and the customers love their third set of new chairs.

Custom Acrylic Furniture
It is amazing how flexible we are when it comes to creating our beautiful custom acrylic furniture pieces. With little more than a concept and a budget we are able to design specifically for your needs. Whether it is a slight modification of existing designs or an entirely new idea, the size and agility of our company allows us to consistently exceed your expectations.

Sillouhette Table Base
We love this custom acrylic table base we made. This table was custom cut out of 1" acrylic and then hand polished on the edges. It varies from some of our more minimal designs. We can now use either acrylic or glass as a table top.

Custom Furniture Design
Here is an example of a rendering that we use for furniture out of various materials. Because of the size of our company and our in-house mentality, we are able to turn around furniture quickly while keeping an eye on production quality.

Chromeo and Juliet
We just found the most amazing auto paint ever. This stuff (when applied by our $1000 guns) looks like actual chrome! I can't wait to post photos but it is incredible how realistic this paint looks. It turns out that this is the same paint that 50 (Fiddy) Cent used when he had his Lamborghini painted. I think we would have our forklift completely chromed out by now if it didn't cost over a thousand dollars per gallon. Look out for some fun new chromed out things headed your way!

Custom Acrylic Leg Chair
These are some fun acrylic leg chairs that we made. The first photo shows the rough prototype we made in order to make sure that everything looks, feels, and sits right. From there we were able to construct the final chairs. The bottom photo shows how the chairs are constructed before they go to the upholsterer.

The Design Process
This is a rendering of a custom acrylic stool we are making for a client. Depending on the requirements of a project we can either do 2D renderings, AutoCad files, or in this case a full 3D model for review before production. We also have an in-house engineer to go over more complicated custom furniture applications.

Custom Furniture For Everyone
We just had a great visit from a couple who drove all the way out from Palm Springs to visit our showroom. They lucked out when they got here because Aaron happened to be in the showroom and gave them a free design consultation (The kind most people pay a lot for). The couple ended up purchasing a 1 1/2" custom sized waterfall table for their home. Best of all they got a great deal. I can't wait to show pictures.

Here are some renderings of a custom metal and upholstered couch for the waiting room of a laser eye surgery center. The client wanted something comfortable that could fit a lot of people while maximizing the amount of people who could comfortably sit on each sofa. They also were concerned about children laying on them so we put in these dividing arm rests. These are currently in fabrication and I will post more pictures as soon as we have them.

After our client received several custom hand painted acrylic chairs, he was so thrilled that he immediately had Aaron design a coffee table to reflect the same flower motif. We created this custom butterfly table to deliver to him and the client loved it.

Custom Furniture Design
The purpose of this blog is to show our custom furniture design capabilities for Aaron R. Thomas design. Although we specialize in modern acrylic furniture our capabilities are far reaching and include custom painted furniture, woodworking, metalworking, fine upholstery, carbon fiber, reclaimed materials, and more. We are a full service design and build company and enjoy choosing the right materials to suit our clients tastes, needs, and budgets. This blog will show how we design throughout the entire process so that we can give you a better idea of what we do and how we do it.
